There is so much to do in preparation. The house is rented starting mid-June 2013 for a year to a family coming from Melbourne Australia - one of our destination points. They have twin 4-year olds and a 2-year old, so we can leave all the grandkid's books, toys and games, inlcuding a huge doll house Roger's dad built for Tasha's Sunshine Family - Barbie-sized but with normal body proportions - dolls from when she was a kid. That means fewer items going into storage, which is a good thing. The dad will be visiting faculty at UW in biochem. Roger found someone to take Hersey for a year. Now, if only I could sell my 6' wide loom. This weekend I'll take it apart and we'll move it out early next week to storage. All of the windows have been replaced in the house. The yardcare folks come Monday to do a spring cleanup and spread bark. The quarter at UW ends next week, so no more classes until we return. Roger doesn't exactly realize this yet, but our 3-week tour of the Po Valley and Florence in the Fall will be paying homage to Dante. (I have been taking a fabulous class in La commedia, The Devine Commedy, this quarter.)

The big adventure has four stops: Northern Italy, Australia, New Zealand, and Southern Italy. Then we return home some time in June 2014.
