The World's Most Livable City

Happy New Years from the World's Most Livable City...so named by Lonely Planet.

...a city where the central business district is entirely surrounded by parks...

...like this one.

It's the most bicycle friendly city on the planet...hosting both the Tour Down Under...the year's first stop on the UCI professional racing circuit.

And, in May of this year, it will host a world conference of bicycle transportation planners.

A city sandwiched between Australia's two premier wine regions...

McLaren Vale and...

...the Barossa Valley

This could be Seattle's Pike Place Market, but it's not.  It's Adelaide's Central Market.

Adelaide is a contrast between old and new...

Glenelg's Town Hall...

...and the city's cricket stadium.

An old downtown hotel...

...and the city's Festival Center

A beachfront mansion...

...and the Convention Center.

The old Fruit and Vegetable Exchange...

...and the brand-new BioMedical Research Center.

And Roger's two favorite Buildings:

The Adelaide Arcade...

...and the Rainforest Pavillion at the Botanical Gardens.

Happy New Year from Australia!
